Connector and pluginWorkbranch for Claude
Save the tasks, decisions, open questions and ideas from your Claude conversations into Workbranch, filed into projects and folders with dates. Start your next session with what's still open.
What it does
- Save a conversation: say "save this to Workbranch". Claude splits the conversation into topics, and each becomes a short chat in your project: a summary, then the tasks, decisions, questions only you can answer and ideas for later, each in a folder and on the day it was discussed.
- See what's open: ask "what's open on my project?" for anything overdue, what's due today, questions waiting on you and recurring jobs.
- Update from the chat: "mark the launch email done", "move it to Friday", "we decided to go with the yearly plan". Workbranch updates at once, and the next time Claude checks it sees what you changed in Workbranch too.
- Saving again adds only what's new, so you can save a long conversation as it goes on.
Set it up in Claude (web, desktop and mobile)
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors, click Add and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it
Workbranchand enter the URLhttps://mcp.workbranch.ai/mcp, then click Add. - Click Connect. Workbranch opens: sign in, check what Claude will be able to do, and click Allow.
- In any chat, say "save this to Workbranch" or "what's open in Workbranch?".
Claude asks before each use until you change the tools' permissions in the same settings page. A good setup: allow the read-only tools always, and keep saving and updating on approval.
Set it up in Claude Code (plugin)
The Workbranch plugin includes the connector, plus /workbranch:save, /workbranch:open and a recap at the start of each session:
- Run

/mcp, choose workbranch and connect: sign in to Workbranch and click Allow. - To open every session in a folder with a recap, put your project's name on the first line of a
.workbranchfile at the folder's root./workbranch:openoffers to create it.

What Workbranch stores
Only what Claude saves at your request: a short summary and the items (tasks, decisions, questions, ideas, owners, dates and folder names). Workbranch never receives the whole conversation. Connection tokens are stored only as one-way hashes. Read the privacy policy.
Requirements
- A Workbranch plan, or the 3-day free trial. New accounts sign up and start the trial during their first connect, then come straight back to Allow.
- A Claude plan that can add a custom connector (the free plan allows one), or Claude Code for the plugin.
Disconnect
In Workbranch, open the account menu, choose Connected apps and click Disconnect. Claude loses access at once. You can also remove the connector in Claude's settings.

Frequently asked questions
Does saving use my Workbranch credits?
No. Claude does the reading and sorting on your Claude plan; Workbranch only stores what it saves. Credits are used only when you chat with Workbranch's own AI.
Can Claude delete anything in my Workbranch?
No. The connector can list, read, save and update items (mark done, change a date, record a decision), but it has no way to delete anything.
Which Claude plans work?
Any plan that can add a custom connector, including the free plan (one custom connector). The Claude Code plugin works in Claude Code and the Claude desktop app.
